Hey Soul Trackers,
Thanks for lovin' "Love You, I Do!" As a songwriter, this past year has been a real rocket ride for me. And the song "Love You, I Do," from the hit film, "Dreamgirls," is the rocket that has launched it all.
Last February, "Love You, I Do" was nominated for an Academy Award, for Best Original Song. And this year, it has ushered in a Grammy nom! I'm incredibly proud that this song has struck such a universal chord in film and music lovers all over the world.
Well, SoulTracks will keep us connected through the music. Aptly named, because I think music is the path, the track that leads to a direct connection to the soul of the artist. I welcome you onto my SoulTrack. Come on in, sit down and make yourself vulnerable. We'll enjoy the journey together.

Biography
A singer, songwriter and performer, Siedah Garrett has written for a diverse selection of recording artists from Aretha Franklin to Al Jarreau, Vanessa Williams, Paula Abdul and Amy Grant.
Siedah is likely best know for co-writing Michael Jackson's smash "Man In The Mirror," and for dueting with him on the hit "I Just Can't Stop Loving You." She also had her own hit in 1988 with "K.I.S.S.I.N.G.," but her solo career never hit the levels that her talent warranted. However, her songwriting has carried her through even when performing didn't, and she's been the pen behind dozens of wonderful compositions.
Earlier this decade Siedah temporarily replaced N'dea Davenport as the lead singer for the Brand New Heavies and wrote much of their album Shelter. Then the year 2007 became a big year for Garrett, as she co-wrote new material for the movie Dreamgirls, garnering a Grammy and Oscar nominations for her contribution, "I Love You, I Do," performed in the movie (and at the Academy Awards) by Jennifer Hudson. The nominations brought well deserved attention to this talented songwriter and artist.
A big reward to Siedah came on February 10, 2008, when "I Love You, I Do" won the Grammy for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture. CLICK HERE to read Siedah's story of her Grammy win.
