Blessings to My SoulTracks family!!

I am pleased to have completed my 4th record!!  I must say that this time around, I felt a complete sense of freedom, for various reasons.  I believe that with every release I am able to share a bit more of myself with you all.

I appreciate the continuous support and love that everyone has shown me over the years.  I also appreciate the honesty and constructivism, which has helped me grow as an individual, as well as creatively.  If it wasn't for my supporters, this project would have not been possible.  Your prayers and inspiration definitely served as a catalyst which kept me going. SoulTracks, thank you for allowing me to share my experiences with you.

Peace and Light,
Conya Doss

Biography

Born in the underrated Soul Music town of Cleveland, Ohio, Conya Doss was admittedly "raised on Stevie Wonder, Angela Winbush, Donnie Hathaway and Minnie Ripperton."  She attended the prestigious Cleveland School of the Performing Arts and sang with childhood friend Stacy Richardson (now a backup singer for Anthony Hamilton) in the duo Lyrik.  As an adult she wrote for 3LW and worked with Gerald Levert and PAJAM before venturing into a career as a solo singer.

Conya released her first album, A Poem For Ms. Doss, in 2002 on Orpheus Records. The album received critical acclaim and some regional success.  After two more years of touring and refining her craft, Conya returned with significantly more commercial success on her sophomore album, Just Because, in late 2004 (independently in the US and on Dome Records in the UK).  The album was an indie smash and moved Doss to the forefront of the indie soul movement.  She continued touring regularly after the release of Just Because and followed it two years later with Love Rain Down.  Her development as a songwriter and live performer fueled her ascent through the decade, landing for her multiple guest appearances on the Michael Baisden Show and two nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year in the SoulTracks Readers' Choice Awards.

In late 2007, Conya returned to the studio to work on her 4th solo album, scheduled for release in Spring, 2008.

Congratulations to Conya -

Congratulations to Conya - she has a beautiful voice and spirit and has perfected her personal style. The thing I always liked best about her is that she was always open and giving with her gift, never stingy. She could just as easily blow the song out as breathe but when you asked her to share her talent with you she didn't hesitate, she'd share her voice in the beauty of that moment with you. I always felt blessed after hearing her sing, uplifted and touched by something beyond myself. I also couldn't wait to tell everybody. Still through all of this she remains humble and gracious. I hope she wins the two categories for which she has been nominated and that all of you share her gifts with at least one more person.
